When I used to live in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia as a kid, I remember how our university’s cable TV seemed to be dominated by this one network called ART, Arab Radio and Television. Dude, it had like- 15 channels and I didn’t understand a single one.
On a recent trip to Dubai with Hassan Sialkoti, I walk into the hotel room, turn on the TV and sure enough- it’s tuned ART Cinema- and I recorded accordingly…
nice! the violins, the drama, the urgency–though they are probably talking about last month’s electricity bill!
