Is this what Newsweek needs to do, everytime they feel that things are too quiet on the Pakistan front? The guys on this (right side) cover are only legitimized further by Newseek asking a dangerously rhetorical question- whereas Pakistanis day and day out face the brunt of these crazies.
Then, on the left hand side- Time illustrates how the United States is now having to consider talking to the crazies in order to make peace.
Before moving back to Pakistan- as I was removed from the ground realities here; I was in an almost permanent apologetic state for being Pakistani and tried to let all my American compatriots know that yes- Pakistan’s policies are irresponsible and quite opaque; turbid, rather- because it was just plain confusing. But seeing the low, tongue-in-cheek state of journalism an institution like Newsweek is displaying here, coupled with the reluctant admission to the predominant failure of US “AfPak” policy has me realizing that you know what, American policy and lawmakers…you seem to be losing the plot just as bad as our scummy ones have.
Best of luck in giving life again to what seemed to be a role model of a national constitution.
