Music For Relief: Linkin’ Park lends flood victims a hand.

21 August 2010 3 Comments

I’m a fan of anyone who can look past political issues and straight into the humanity of a region, in its hour of need. I was really floored when I saw that Mike Shinoda, one of the forces behind the US band rock/electronic band Linkin’ Park started putting out the word for helping flood victims here in Pakistan. So I put this poster together (so the imagery and this poster is completely unofficial) . If you’d like to help spread the word (especially if you like music, and going out to see it live), please download the PDF version here and poster accordingly. Think about it- if you go out for some dancing on the weekends in cities like SF, LA or London you’re easily spending enough money to help out- if you can find the heart to pitch in. The links are below, and they eventually lead to a very trusted organization, that I’m happy and proud to be of any help to: the UN Refugee Agency, the US branch for the UNHCR

Thanks a lot to Linkin Park and Mike for helping – we need people like them who have a heart and are willing to look past the political image of a torn country like Pakistan. I must admit though – I didn’t think LP would do it because of Pakistan’s political image and the Islamophobia that goes with it – but they did, and I love them.
LP, you’re definitely my favorite band, and I will owe you forever.
