Wagah Border: Where Pakistani and Indian Punjabis meet, dance, then face off by sunset.

17 April 2010 No Comment

Taken looking towards India, from Pakistan. Our guys choose to do the infamous ‘dance of death’ in the most comfortable clothing one can perform acrobatic moves in (sic) – the Shalwaar Kameez. But I’ll be damned if any one looks more badass moving that way in flowing robes and pants. I’m no chest-thumping patriot, but it’s quite the show put on. If only we could get over the chest thumping, screaming, and fighting and finally just be at peace with one another.

Originally shot on 35mm black/white film, then printed on the most magical* canvas I’ve ever seen, at an amazing* price (thanks to Sky Lab, Lahore).

*Key words adopted from the public address they were most overused in, ever- the iPad release.
