Pakistani Symphony

Pakistani Passport – Khurram Siddiqi, 2001
I just uploaded a track I did over the winter, while Pakistan was under ‘emergency rule’.
NOTE: as usual with all of my ‘tracks’, it’s not mastered.
Sapuri D vs. Deadmau5 vs. Hybrid: Pakistani Symphony
My take on a housey remix of one of the finest electronic- symphonic pieces ever made- originally by Hybrid, then remixed by Deadmau5, and me…who splooged my ‘introspective’ lyrics and sound clips all over it. The first part is from the manifesto from the now defunct right wing think tank, the ‘Project for the New American Century’. Takes about 30-40 seconds before the first ‘lyrics’- so don’t mind the beat. Well, a house beat is never a bad thing…
First is me acting all neoconnish, and reading out the manifesto. The second part is me trying to sound Arab, and reading a verse from Khalil Gibran (yes, how more pseudo-intellectual could I get than that, right?!) on what patriotism really is. This was so touching, especially given the shit Pakistani was going through. Then comes some American State Department guy telling us the truth about President Musharraf, and the aid we received- how it didn’t ‘buy’ the US much. Guess money can’t buy you everything these days. Who would have thought. Then there’s the CEO of GEO News, one of Pakistan’s most loved/ hated news channels, speaking his mind about the war on terror. It’s safe to say every Pakistani with a normal head on his/ her shoulders feels the same way. After that is a cigar store owner in Karachi talking about the dilemma; and disenchantment even moderate Pakistanis will feel, as they are pretty much shit on by both fanatics, and Americans who don’t think Pakistan is doing enough for the war on terror, which Borat beautifully summed as ‘War Of Terror’.
